We have lots of ripe peaches and want to share them with you! These two varieties taste amazing this year and are larger than many of our other peaches were. Unfortunately the fruit got hit with a bit of powdery mildew which is a benign plant disease that makes the white splotches you see in the photo. It has no effect on flavor and is harmless to us humans. It also washes off pretty easily. This does make it hard to sell the fruit to our wholesale customers though. Pick your own fruit for the discounted price of $2.50/lb. Enjoy some time outdoors and bring home peaches for snacking, drying, jamming…we’ll also have some of our own jams for sale. The orchard will be open for a U-Pick in our 80 tree peach block on Saturday, August 24th, from 8 am to noon.
The weather forecast is for the 80s with abundant sunshine, so make sure to bring water, sunblock, and a hat.
Google maps is finally giving good directions to the farm, hooray. Take the Kidwell exit off I-80, head down Olmo Lane toward the Gotham Greens greenhouses, turn left at the sign “Journey’s End” and follow the signs from there. Please drive slowly on the gravel and dirt roads so that you don’t kick up dust.
